My first elopement session! After 13 years together, these two crazy kids finally took the plunge! So honoured to have spent an evening capturing a piece of their Real Love. More of this, please.
I'm just dying over this collection of photos and emotions - a documentation of the genuine love between these two. Four kids in and a 20th anniversary coming up - they've still got it. The kids intercepted our session a few times... which is just perfect because it's so exactly how it is.

I'm cooking up something new for my daily challenge this August! Stay tuned...
I confess: I fell off the wagon these couple of months with my personal photo challenge. I won't bore you with all my elaborate excuses, but instead I will share with you the few photos that did happen in May and June that make me very, very happy.
What a beautiful idea to have some family photos done on holiday in Australia! I know this family from Singapore, where I did a newborn session for their youngest. A year later, across continents, here we are in this gorgeous setting.
I have been patiently waiting for so many weeks to photograph new baby Mack with his family! Born at 33 weeks, he had a whirlwind beginning to life and he just wasn't quite ready for me until now... and I am so glad. Just being that little bit older, he wasn't a sleepy, milk drunk newborn, but rather a wide-eyed curious new life just taking it all in. He was so alert and aware - his face full of wisdom and wonder. His big brother Roy has had time to fall in love with him too, and even let him hold one of his least favourite trains! But only for a second.
Congratulations Roberts family - you are complete. Crazy dogs and all.
Meet Sarah Dawn: Passionate, motivated and utterly adorable.
We spent an evening capturing some fresh and funky portraits to get Sarah's new website up and running for her business "The mUvement". Her crazy passion and knowledge about health, wellness and fitness, coupled with an enthusiasm for helping others, is sure to book her out by the time this blog is up.
Stay tuned for more! Part Deux is on the way...
It's already mid-May! How did this happen? I'm looking through my April photos and they seems ages ago. Summer is turning into autumn in Australia and it's beautiful. Lots of bold colours and shadow play from the lower sun in the sky. Also lots of cool reflections off water, glass and my new favourite - the surface of my pool. At the end of the month I took my photography adventures to Singapore where I was able to reunite with families I had been photographing since their children were newborns. Such an honour to be part of your growing family!

A love story.
Ever since she was a little girl, Gretchen always knew she wanted to be a mother. Her journey to Marta began several years ago as she investigated where, as a single New Zealand woman, she was eligible to adopt. Doors closed one after the other and adoption started to seem an impossibility. But then a small window of opportunity came up in Ethiopia, and she was quickly on a plane. Gretchen would return to Addis Ababa twice before she was finally able to bring Marta home. These are her words:
If you think my hands are full. You should see my heart. The very first time I met you. I found a new meaning to love. I believe the stars were aligned. I’m so glad the heavens matched us.
-Gretchen, mother to Marta
Love. This. Session. The bond between these two is so strong. There was an ease to the whole session as they communicated freely and flowed from one room to the next exploring and giggling. Grateful today for this kind of love story, and that I got to witness it.
More Mother's Day love on the blog today! Meet Barbara: Amazing mother to this easy breezy international family of three and a full time Art teacher. This is my sixth photo session with Barbara and Anya, and second since Micah came on the scene! Anya is growing into a beautiful, determined, and talented young woman. Micah is a curious little boy and very easily entertained by these two women in his life. Super fun session at Chijmes - can't get enough of these windows and hallways...
Meet Ann Sophie: a full time mum of two and a professional photographer. This 'Mummy & Me' session will be printed on art paper and given as a gift to Ann Sophie's mother who lives in Germany. I love prints. I love them because they are tangible. A printed photograph can be passed down through generations. Ann Sophie's mother can hold these photos in her hands and think of her daughter and her grandchildren living happily in Australia, and that is powerful. I was honoured to spend an evening capturing a piece of this big love.
Happy Mother's Day!
March has come and gone! I am so grateful that the most beautiful light happens at the end of the day, because my experience so far in this process is that I totally forget to pick up my camera until the very last moment before sunset. So, lots of shadow play and golden light in this collection! So much happens in a month... some of these precious captures already feel ages ago.
Here are a few of my March faves.

About a month and a half into 2016 I decided to do what I have thought about doing many times: The 365 Photo Challenge. For the next 365 days I will pick up my camera every.single.day no matter how mundane - yay! I go on and on about finding the beauty in your everyday, and now I'm going to put words into action. Very daunting, and very exciting!
Here are my February favourites.

My first attempt at a "cinemagraph"! Pretty cool, hey?
This is a cheeky sneak peek into some of my very favorite photos from a wedding that was very close to my heart. To my cousin Devon and her very cool new husband, here is an itty bitty glimpse into your massively beautiful day. More to come.
I have just returned from a two week family holiday in Australia where the LIGHT is pure magic! I can't wait to move to this beautiful country in just a few months!
